Manchester City's attempt to sign Edin Dzeko this summer appears to be over after Wolfsburg confirmed that the Bosnian striker was not for sale at any price.

Dzeko has been linked with a host of clubs since the end of last season, with the likes of Juventus and AC Milan competing with City for his signature.

Wolfsburg have also reiterated that Zvjezdan Misimovic will not be sold before the end of August.

The Bundesliga club's managing director, Dieter Hoeness, said:"We have decided to end the recurring speculation. Both Edin Dzeko and Zvjezdan Misimovic will be staying at Wolfsburg, no matter what offers come in for them.

"We did not want this speculation to become endless as we move closer to the start of the season.
